Mobile Phones to Be Used for Health Care

With the emergence of health care methods utilizing mobile phones, related patent applications are expected to grow in the future.

Due to its easy-to-carry characteristic, several new usages for mobile phones are being developed. Among these, a 'Health Phone' with health care function will likely contribute significantly to the health management of the general public as an indispensable tool in daily life.  

Mobile phones' health-care function was the result of the development of special semiconductor chips or bio chips that produce infrared rays and electron waves and which are equipped with supersensitive sound sensors. The principle is that built-in semiconductor chips accumulate and store individual health data systematically to facilitate health management.

For example, mobile phones can be utilized in female health care by receiving analyzed health information, trends of monthly and daily changes in body temperature, expression of physiological frequency, etc. via a health-related Internet site to which basic body temperature data measured with a health phone are transmitted.

If a diabetic measures blood sugar with semiconductor chips built in his health phone and transmits the result to the internet site, he can receive blood-sugar control, exercise management, health education and consulting services continuously.  

Projections are that if related semiconductor chip manufacturing technologies are enhanced and e-health clinical centers established, patent applications for health phones will get greater impetus in the future.

Heralding a mobile health-care era that diagnoses blood sugar, stress, etc. and monitors health, mobile phones are expected to play a huge role in the management of people's health as a 'health keeper.'
